I caught the puppies
napping...ran to get the camera to get the cutest picture, by
the time I came back half were awake...here they are picking on
one another...

The past couple days were
busy for the gang...Yesterday they received their 1st of 4 DHPP
vaccines, today Dr. Patterson came by and did a health check on
all of them...they passed with flying colors.
This afternoon my assistant
Marika and I, puppy tested and microchipped the entire litter!
Boy THAT'S a job! But we had fun. We believe we have
the puppies matched up to every family and are excited for you
to meet your newest family member. If you enlarge the pix
you might be able to see which puppy is yours...some names are
visible on the collar tags. If not you will have to wait a
couple more days!!
I know I just posted pics a couple
days ago but realize that I have not posted the pups separated
by gender in a while...so here they are on Sunday AM just put
into their clean pen!
THAT won't last long!! They
are loads of fun now and very people oriented...they are a nice
looking bunch...Enjoy!

November 6 2008
Puppies are 5 1/2 weeks and today is
such a nice day we took them outside...they have started getting
much more coordinated and were actually trying to go up the
slide...they enjoyed a few hours of what I think is more than
likely the last day of 70's weather we will have for the rest of
the season. Completely weaned off of their dam they are
now eating solid food that we continue to soften. Tomorrow
they get a Bordetella vaccine, this is for the canine
cough...and is good for one year.
It is funny to see their reaction to
the big world and all the sounds, at one moment a motorcycle
went by and they all stopped to listen at the same time.
They were not scared and only took a moment to explore the
ground and they were off! Tails up having a ball.
THEY LOVE PEOPLE!!!

Pups have mastered the walking thing
and are now into hopping and jumping! They are fun! We have pulled them off of their dam, she is taking issue with
their teeth.
They are doing well on their food.

October 24, 2008
Ok pups are WALKING and playing in slo-mo...and we started
them on solid food, they now are getting some teeth!
Mom is not too fond of
nursing them.
They have also begun training...yes I
said training...we paper train them, which is teaching them the
'designated' potty area. This makes housetraining that
much faster. We also will be starting some minor 'health'
work. They will be checked for internal parasites, and
they get their first vaccination...the Bordetella (up the nose)
So far they have really taken to the
puppy food. We soak it so it is soft. Over the next
few weeks we will gradually stop soaking it so they will be
eating it dry prior to going to their new homes.

Puppies eyes are about 1/3 the way
opened. I will wait a couple days and take another
picture.
October 12, 2008

Do they look like they have grown? I see them everyday
so they look the same to me...They are almost 2 weeks
old...their eyes will start to open in a few days, then the fun
begins. Once they can see...they walk. By 3.5 weeks
they will be climbing that box and we will remove it. Time
is going by FAST.
Pretty soon you can come see them LIVE !!!
October 6, 2008

The puppies are now a week old...the seem to eat a little
less now during the first few days it seems like it is around
the clock...Rez is very attentive and keeps them immaculate.
The next milestone is opening their eyes...about a week from
now.
October 2, 2008
Tails are done. Here is why it is done...in case you are
wondering
** The whole procedure takes about 1 minute
per puppy. As soon as you put them back in the group they
stop complaining and go to sleep. Despite the claims by
anti-docking advocates this is not cruel. For those of you who
have never seen a breed that requires docking, with a long
tail...let me assure you that this is necessary. The tails
are unbelievably long and undoubtedly wagging, so long that the
tip smacks against walls...and other inanimate objects and
breaks open the skin and often breaking the bone...that open
wound on the tip bleeds, the skin is thin
at the end and never entirely heals after this type of injury. This is called "Happy Tail"
when you add wagging to that bleeding open wound, you can imagine
the mess. This is a necessary procedure for all docked
breeds.

October 1, 2008 2:08pm update
Puppies continue to do well and so does Rez, it seems like
its Vegas style eating - around the clock.
Tomorrow we will dock tails and do the dew claws.
FYI it is not traumatic at all for the puppies, they
complain more because they are being handled than the actual
procedure itself. Once completed and you set them back
down they immediately fall asleep...
I will post pictures tomorrow after they are done.
